Dovecote at WilcoteThis weekend completed a fantastic footpath run from Stonesfield (near Woodstock) through Wychwood Forest via Leafield and Ascott under Wychwood, and back to Stonesfield. Almost 20 miles, pretty hilly - about 500 feet of ascent, and it went really well. It may have helped that I was forced to stop lots of times to find my way, as I made this route up out of lots of different public footpaths, and they weren’t always obvious.

Shoes: Saucony Jazz Grid, which I’ve never worn for this distance Saucony Jazz Grid shoesbefore. I was really impressed - not a sore toe or a blister in sight after 20 miles of hills. This could be because the varied terrain is actually easier on the feet - versus the relentless pounding on asphalt. They did not, however, prevent the nettles from attacking my legs. Ow.
