Quick, I’m in a hurry!
This started as a blog for my first marathon in Stockholm in 2005. I resurrected it in 2006 before running my second marathon in Brussels on 27th August and it’s still here. Now it’s just odds and ends, mostly photos taken on my mobile phone while out running, and when I’m not injured, charts progress towards the next distance goal.
I’m having a coffee break, tell me more!
2005′s Stockholm marathon was fantastic, even the gherkins tasted, well, not too horrible.
So, in the quest for ever greater challenges and continental foodstuffs, I keep signing up for other marathons – in 2006 the fairly quiet Brussels marathon, in 2007 Snowdonia Marathon, in 2008, Antwerp and Snowdonia again, a gap in 2009, Stratford and Brussels 2010, then London 2011 as part of the relay race Burn to Run down the Grand Union Canal, raising over £3,000 with 14 other runners in aid of the Burns Unit at Selly Oak hospital.
My day job is completely sedentary, so if it wasn’t for running I would probably walk 200 steps a day maximum. When I remember, and when I’m not trying to run faster, I take photos when out running with my mobile phone.
When not running at all, I record sounds. Some of these end up in art installations. Indeed you might have ended up here via the main alunward.co.uk website, or another source in this over-linked world of ours.
