Day Two – video online and some thoughts
May 13th, 2007 by lunamanJust a quick note to remind you of the photo album – it should now be linked in on the right of the home page, and is available on our Flickr gallery.
RUN is now available to view online. Turn the volume up and go to Vimeo to watch it. Obviously it loses a lot of quality on the web version: www.vimeo.com/clip:189675
I’ve uploaded some stills from the video piece, which will stand in for the piece itself until I can get video clips online.
I’m only just discovering the breadth of Clare’s internet exposure, and openness to this form of communication, and even though I’m a professional web designer by day, it’s quite awe inspiring!

Hi Alun, i have been pleased to make my art work, especially my archive more available through the two main web-sites i store images on. i think though that you are probably referring to http://www.myspace.com/clarecarswell ?
i only joined it a week or so ago as an experiment. i hope that it is a way to make my work more accessible to people who wouldn’t normally get to see it. also, i go see a lot of live music and it is a nice way of contacting musicians i have enjoyed – i have had nice contact with The Memory Band and A Hawk and a Hacksaw. both of whom i saw in the last couple of weeks. it is also a good way for me to hear the music of unsigned and other musicians that i may not come across otherwise. it makes me feel connected to others in a more immediate and more far reaching way. i draw the line at MySpace though – so far this week i have been asked by friends to join Friendster, Facebook and Bebo and i have said no to those. although i do make the time to up-date the web-sites i am not that enamoured by it and if after a month or so it is taking up too much time or head-space i’ll delete my profile !

Re. websites; yes, MySpace, but also your own sites. I’m just impressed by your keeping them so up to date. Perhaps I shouldn’t be – and should make a more determined effort to make sure my own presence on the web is current.
I guess my head was in the video edit until Friday night, but now I’ve more time, I’ve put links in to Metron on my various sites – the running blog and the old 3jay site where most of my work still lives. I have used You Tube and the cleaner/nicer Vimeo for video uploads, and even have a profile on the brilliant Last.fm for music listening, but MySpace still scares me
My tag is often ‘lunaman’.
